The National Aviary in Pittsburgh welcomes bird lovers all over the world to its enchanting collection of birds!
The Aviary, formerly known simply as the Pittsburgh aviary was highly applauded for its large variety of birds, as well as the well-maintained, well-equipped ambience, perfect for the breeding of birds.
Consequently the aviary won the prestigious designation of being the National Aviary of Pittsburgh, and the only national aviary in America in the year 1993, approved by the President Bill Clinton himself.

Situated at the North Side of the city, the National Aviary houses more than 600 birds, including 250 rare species approximately. On your travel Pittsburgh Pennsylvania, once you step into the aviary, get ready to be bewitched by the dazzling and divine collection of birds.

From the classy Lorikets and exquisite Macaws to the tiny Humming bird, the aviary exhibits birds from all the continents of the world. The Scarlet Headed Blackbird, Blue-Winged Mountain Tanager, Paradise Tanagers, Yellow throated Laughing Thrush, Lesser- Green Broadbill- are all a pleasure for the eye.
Special events and bird shows are not uncommon and you get to see a wide variety of birds displayed at the numerous programs. There are provisions for celebrating birthdays in the angelic ambience, along with the gorgeous birds all around you.
The most fascinating of the bird residing at the Aviary is however, the resplendent Hyacinth Macaw named Benito and the stunning Green-winged Macaw called Killer. They allure you with not only their magnificence, but also entertain you with a number of delightful shows.
Apart from this, the Aviary also takes special care to breed and conserve the endangered species of birds such as the Bali Mynah and the Red Crowned Crane among others and enhance their numbers.
