Kennywood Park
The Kennywood Park once belonged to the Kenny family. It is located very close to
downtown Pittsburgh, West Mifflin, Pennsylvania. This particular piece of land was also the location of the historic Battle of Monongahela.
This spot was so popular that people used to arrive here in clusters to picnic and have fun and this was also known as "Kenny's Grove."

Since this spot was so popular with various picnickers, Kennywood Park started off as a trolley park in the year 1898 that catered to the local industrial workers and their families.
Even though the park had actually been built to motivate ridership at the end of a trolley line, it started attracting more and more people and hence more revenue than the main trolley business.

Unfortunately or fortunately, the Pittsburgh Steel Railway Company wanted to move away from the business of amusement parks and diversify into other fields. In 1906, Kennywood Park was bought over by A.S. McSwigan and Frederick W. Henninger, who worked together to make Kennywood Park as it is known to us today, renowned and with a big customer base.
Though this place was originally meant as an entertainment location where the working class people could have their picnics and parties, it quickly changed to a place of popular attractions like swimming pools, all sorts of electrifying rides and dance halls by the initial parts of the twentieth century.
Many of the Pittsburgh travel deals include a trip to Kennywood Park for some of its famous rides like the Phantom's Revenge (formerly known as the Steel Phantom), Raging Rapids and the Log Jammer.
The park provides their own armed personnel for the safety of visitors. Kennywood Park also has beautiful scenery and one of the more popular figures around is the mascot, Kenny Kangaroo. Tourists can hire a Pittsburgh PA travel guide to help them around the various places inside Kennywood Park, which got listed as a National Historic Landmark in 1987.
