Pittsburgh Zoo generates dozens of seasonal positions for job hunters. Each year they will hold a Seasonal Job Fair in January. Let's take a look at some Pittsburgh Zoo 2011 seasonal job openings.

Zoo Camp Aide

By and large, the main duty of Zoo Camp Aide is to ensure the smooth going of Zoo Camp this year. Specifically, the aide should be responsible for preparing and implementing the Zoo Camp curriculum, supervising participants during the camp, assisting in teaching lesson plans, interacting with co-workers and etc. Applicants are required to have a degree in education or a related field.

Zoo Mascots and Escorts

Pittsburgh Zoo is hiring dedicated employees to wear their animal costumes for events and other activities in Pittsburgh. It's not an easy job as the costumes might be heavy and hot. Thus, candidates should be in good physical condition and their heights should between 5′4 and 5′10″ approximately. Candidates can't be claustrophobic. If you like interact with children and lover to be animated, apply to be the adorable Zoo Mascots!

For high school and college students, Pittsburgh Zoo offers you The Pittsburgh Zoo & PPG Aquarium's Intern Programs to gain basic knowledge and valuable experience in zoological field. Via practicing hands-on works in a modern zoological park, candidates will develop abilities and skills, replenish their knowledge and enhance their career goals. There are six internships available:

- Animal Husbandry

- Marketing & Public Relations

- Horticulture

- Information Technology

- Conservation Education

- Animal Health

Would you like to be Zoo Docents or volunteers? The main task of Zoo docents is to help visitors get most out of their tour at Pittsburgh Zoo. Specific responsibilities of Zoo Docents include offering help to visitors, assisting in special events, visiting community groups with small animals and doing some observation research.
