The Hartwood Acres covers an area of 629 acres and is located in the Allegheny County. It is one of the most amazing and largest preserved county estates in the area.

It is a magnificent structure providing a glimpse of the history of the city. The Hartwood Acres comprises a grand Tudor Mansion, which was built in the year 1929. The district park also constitutes of a cottage, a perfect complex and a public garden. It also comprises an impressive gate lodge, which was built in 1927.

The Hatwood Acres was actually opened for the public in 1969. The estate was designed for John Flinn Lawrence and Mary Flinn Lawrence by famous architect Alfred Hopkins. The mansion also contains a vast collection of American and English rare antiques.

The permanent collection of the estate also feature 11 sculptures created by famed sculptors. Some of the masterpieces are Ring Series by Fletcher Benton, Meadmore, Mobius by Peter Forakis and Coronet by Lila Katzen. These art pieces enhance the appeal and elegance of the estate.

There is a stage in the middle of the park for concerts and facilities for hiking, horse riding, skiing and biking are also provided for the visitors. Apart from all these, the district park is also famous for the'Festive of Lights' during the winter.
